FTC Teams Win at Griffith Qualifier!

On Sunday, January 15, all three of our FIRST Tech Challenge teams competed in a qualifying tournament in Griffith, Indiana. This was the second competition for TOXIC and Vier Left this season and the first one for rookie team The Fire Wires.

Team 9790 Vier Left took both of the top honors at the competition. They earned the Inspire Award, the highest ranking judged award, and won the robot game as the Winning Alliance Captains.

Team 9789 TOXIC earned the Think Award and they were the Finalist Alliance Captains in the robot game, losing the final match to Vier Left.

Team 12014 The Fire Wires earned the Rookie Sensation Award and were members of the Winning Alliance with Vier Left.

All three teams qualified for the Indiana State Championship on February 25 in Crawfordsville. Vier Left and TOXIC had qualified in their previous contest as well.

The success of the FTC teams can be directly attributed to the FIRST progression of programs. All of the FTC members were once on a FIRST LEGO League team. There they learned about teamwork, building, programming, documentation and presentations. We are starting our next FLL Off-Season Invitational season on February 6. It is open to students in 3rd-8th grade. Click for more information.

Congratulations to all three FTC teams on a great performance!
